ARTIST STATEMENT

All my life I have painted, sketched, printed and photographed many subjects, places and topics. In time, always circling back to the figure. Finding everything of the world in the figure. There is abstraction, landscape, values of the light and the dark.

I turn to nature for refueling, and within that mode, I paint landscapes — some that I see, some that I imagine, looking for moments of peace, beauty and respite. Nature is the ultimate artistic designer of life and the planet. If only we could all rest in the beauty.

I am a visual artist. My hands and eyes try to make sense of what I see. Words are something else… a different part of my brain that interrupt the flow of the visual work. I’ll let my artwork speak to the eyes of others knowing that those that hear it, will understand.
